In many cases, big parties and autism are not exactly a match made in heaven. Sensory sensitivities and social struggles can pose a bit of a barrier to a truly relaxed, enjoyable time.
Naturally, then, weddings can be somewhat of a challenge for people on the spectrum. Does that mean they’re not feasible for those with autism who have fallen in love?
Good heavens, no!
Lindsey and Dave, a couple on the spectrum, wanted a lovely wedding, and they made it happen in spite of the challenges they inherently faced. From reducing the guest list to taking breaks as needed, they tailored their celebration to accommodate their special needs.
