This Girl Took A Selfie Almost Every Day For 6.5 Years To Document Her Disorder

This brave beauty has Trichotillomania — a disorder that gives her the inexplicable urge to pull her hair out strand by strand. We don’t know what causes this disorder, but it is often used as a (destructive) coping mechanism, a way to relieve negative emotions.

In addition to her Trichotillomania, this young woman, over the past several years, has also suffered from bouts of depression, anxiety, and Dermatillomania (a disorder which makes her pick her skin).

What makes her so admirable? She keeps fighting.

And she’s using her artistic abilities to shine light on these disorders and tell other sufferers that they are not alone. In the video below, we see six and a half years worth of pictures she took of herself, one right after the other. All together, they document her life with the various disorders she has.

These photos give us a glimpse into her world. Take a look.
