Kerry Magro is the author of Autism And Falling In Love: To The One That Got Away. He was diagnosed with autism at a young age, and was nonverbal for the first few years of his life. He’s come a long way since then! He’s earned his master’s degree, is the CEO of a nonprofit, and travels the country speaking about his experiences.
Kerry says that he’s been wanting to write this book for the past seven years — since he fell in love for the first time. He was a high school senior and he wanted to find a girlfriend. At first, he found it challenging to even interact with a girl. During that time, he did a lot of soul-searching and a lot of writing. Once he eased into his first relationship, his writing increased, and he’s continued to write for the past seven years.
Autism And Falling In Love is a result of all those years of writing and introspection. It combines self-help and personal experience in a way that he hopes will be a great help to those on the autism spectrum, as well as their parents and significant others.
Here, he discusses the book and his reasons behind writing it with Autism Live host Shannon Penrod. Take a look!
