Watch How This School Teaches a Young Woman on the Spectrum to Wash Her Hands

Jackie has limited hearing and vision, and she is also on the autism spectrum. She is well on her way to independence, something she really desires to have — and she is a very determined young lady, according to her father.

During the week, Jackie attends the Maryland School for the Blind. This year’s big goal has been to work on hygiene routines.

Previously, Jackie would get so caught up on moving on to her next task that she would rush through basic routines.

Now, with the help of motivational tools and pictures, Jackie is learning how she can better take care of herself.

In the following video clip, which is an episode of Real Look Autism, they focus on hand washing.

Take a look at how they teach her this essential life skill!
