High School Theater Program Pairs Drama Students With Special Needs Students!

An experimental program at a MN high school is off to a great start. “May Term For All” is based on the idea that some students learn better outside the standard classroom setting than inside. The last six days of class are spent working on various projects, from canoeing to engineering to performances.
“The best thing for me is, I’m really getting to work with kids who normally don’t get a chance to have a voice on stage, and that’s been really meaningful work for me,” drama teacher and co-director Jessica Froehlich said.
Sounds like this pilot program is off the ground in a big way!
