Charlie the Christmas Baby

This is Charlie at age three. He was born on December 25th, 2008 — the best gift you could ever ask for! Charlie’s been diagnosed with PDD and has a clinical age of 18 months. He’s such a beautiful little boy. He loves to wear bright clothing and has an excellent memory. He’s taught himself to count to 30 forwards and backwards. If I write down a number he can tell me what that number is. He has also taught himself the alphabet, colors, and many shapes from squares to hexagons.

Charlie requires 24/7 supervision. He will not leave his mother’s side for any period of time and has his bed next to ours. He doesn’t eat well, but loves bread. Charlie likes to line his toys across the length of the living room and spends a lot of time flapping his hands around his head. He also spends many hours watching the wheels spin around on his toy cars.

As you can see in the photo, Charlie has long hair. He won’t allow anyone to cut it; we have to try to trim it when he’s asleep. He has a bad temper and frequently throws his toys and breaks them. He is obsessed with electronic equipment such as phones, iPads, and laptops. Charlie doesn’t like to cuddle or kiss, but when he does cuddle you understand just how much he really loves you.

Charlie is our perfect little angel, and he’s happy with his perception of the world. As long as he’s a healthy, happy little boy I’ll sleep well at night.

Love you my angel. xx
