Bringing Attention To Autism

When Michael was an infant, before his parents even new what autism was, he started showing signs of being on the spectrum. From not being able to communicate well, secluding himself to his own space, and even being very meticulous about organizing his toys, all signs pointed to autism.

However, what Michael also dealt with growing-up was seizures. During a brain scan at the age of nine to rule out epilepsy, what they found wasn’t epilepsy but was that the right side of his brain, the side that handle social skills, was not functioning properly. Michael was then diagnosed with autism. New to not only his family but his peers, Michael’s diagnosis brought attention to autism within his community. Watch and learn about how Michael has been living with autism and how raising awareness has made life easier for him.
