There are many people around the world who love to dance. In fact, it is one of those skills that is born into us, although not everybody can dance to entertain others. Many of us are limited to “dancing like nobody’s watching” but there are others who have the opportunity to share their skills with the world.
If you really want to stand out in a crowd, you have to bring your “A-game” to the table. You also need to be just different enough to be unique. That is exactly what you see in the new group shown below. When they had the opportunity to be on the BBC reality show, The Greatest Dancer, they really brought the house down.
The talented group is known as AWA, an acronym that stands for “Autism with Attitude”. The group came up against some of the biggest names and they came out on top.
Alesha Dixon is one of the hosts of the show, and she comes along with a number of iconic stars in the entertainment industry. Matthew Morriston from the Glee television series and from “Strictly Come Dancing,” Cheryl, and Oti Mabuse join her.
A variety of styles and age differences find their way onto the show and they come up against each other. When somebody wins a session, they go to the next competition, and the prize increases by £50,000.
When AWA came onto the show, they were determined to walk away the winner.
They decided to bring something unique and it was something that the audience had not seen before. They had to get more than a 75% acclamation and they would be promoted to the next competition.
All of the members of AWA were familiar with each other because they attended the same school. The group was made up of children with autism and, like everyone else, they had dreams that they wanted to follow. Some people in the audience were moved to tears when they experienced it for themselves.
In the end, AWA received a standing ovation from the audience and the realization of their dream from the judges. You can see it for yourself in this video:Whizzco
