Autism is a condition that is highly prevalent in our society…but how much do you really know about the disorder? There is a great deal of misunderstanding that surrounds the condition. Many people believe in any number of the multitude of myths. Many see a child acting out in public and judge the child as “bratty” or “spoiled” and the parents as “bad.”
How can we counter these myths and misunderstandings?
Why, with education, of course!
This video from the National Autistic Society, an autism charity in the UK, explains the core questions you or a friend may have about autism, such as…
- What is it?
- What causes it?
- What does autism look like?
- Is there a cure?
It is a fantastic resource that explains autism well. A definite must-see for those who want to learn more about the disorder. (But we personally think everyone should see it. But that’s another subject for another day!)
