19-year-old Zachary Fligel has autism and is prone to seizures. He’s had an implant to help stop and slow the seizures, but there are still a lot of challenges he faces in his life.
When Zac was a young boy, he spent a lot of time living in his own little world and not talking to anyone. He liked to watch events on the news and collect certain items, but he wouldn’t talk to anyone much.
He’s come a long way since then and is now working on getting his GED so he can get a good computer-based or technological job.
Zac’s advice to parents of children with autism is simply to be patient and try to help their kids get past the obstacles in their lives.
In the video below, Zac opens up about his experience with autism and how he stood up to certain difficulties in his childhood. A must-see perspective from someone who’s been there.
